We are a student-led political media organisation expanding our original reporting - and we’re looking for a Westminster Correspondent to help cover press conferences, political events and ad-hoc interviews with MPs and other political figures.
This voluntary role is ideal for a London-based university student seeking hands-on experience in political journalism and media. You’ll bring our audience closer to Westminster with live updates, short clips and fresh reporting across our digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend press conferences and events at Westminster.
- Conduct ad-hoc interviews with MPs and political figures.
- Capture short clips, soundbites and social-ready content for our platforms.
- Write short, accurate posts/articles when required.
- Represent Politics UK professionally at events.
Person Specification
- Essential
- Studying at a London-based university (or regularly in London).
- Strong interest in politics and current affairs.
- Confident communicator with the ability to interview political figures.
- Familiarity with X and TikTok.
- Reliable, professional and able to work flexibly around events.
- Desirable
- Journalism, media or politics student.
- Experience creating digital/social content.
- Video filming/editing skills.
- Prior reporting or campus journalism experience.
