Based in Smith Square in the heart of Westminster, the successful candidate will support the Chief Executive of Chamber, the only publisher, broadcaster and events company that connects the council to the Commons. The successful candidate will also support Curia, UK’s first consultancy to specialise in the implementation of public policy, running policy commissions led by senior leaders in the policy making space. 

Role

This role would report directly to the CEO and would assist him in developing innovative policy ideas, liaising with national, regional and local stakeholders and clients and ensuring systems and processes meet our goals. 

You will have the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s leading experts from across the political spectrum including our Commissioners, Lord James O’Shaughnessy, Lord Dennis Stevenson, former Minister Ann Keen and former MPs such as Paula Sherriff and Neil Carmichael. In this role you will build trusted relationships with serving Ministers, MPs and elected representatives at every level of UK politics. 

The salary for this role will be £30,000 with an annual bonus dependent on profit targets. 

This varied role will consist of: 

  • Political and Policy Research
    • Providing the team and clients with developing new policy proposals, an understanding of different policy positions, and analysis of political stakeholders
    • Supporting with network and broadcast briefings
  • Event and Diary Management
    • Booking and briefing high profile speakers for regional and national events
    • Coordinating Senior Advisors, including commissioners
    • Booking meetings for our CEO
    • Proactive account management on key projects
  • Technical Support and Marketing
    • Mastering our various softwares and databases
    • Email marketing of key communications, events and publications
    • Social media audience building campaigns
  • Writing
    • Producing thought provoking political articles
    • Providing cutting edge insight through policy summaries

We are looking for candidates with: 

  • Deep knowledge of UK Politics
    • You have likely worked in a political role in the recent past.
    • You know how the system works and the motivations of different stakeholders.
    • As the organisation looks to build internationally, international interest would be useful.
  • IT Proficiency
    • You can easily master software packages and troubleshoot IT problems.
    • You can manage content for a website (use of a CMS is ideal).
  • Impeccable organisation
    • You are highly organised and understand that good organisation leads to efficient communication.
    • Some programme management would be helpful.
  • Strong motivation
    • You have a strong motivation to be at the heart of UK policy making.
  • Swift and Efficient Work Style.
    • You can complete a variety of tasks at speed.
